CALENDAR

VOLUNTEER AT HAZELWOOD FOOD PANTRY
First Saturdays, Next is November 1

9:30-11:30 AM @ Spartan Community Center of Hazelwood
(134 E Elizabeth St)
For years, Fishes & Loaves Cooperative Ministries has been providing free groceries to Hazelwood neighbors in the very space we worship in, and Hot Metallers are invited to lend a helping hand once a month. No RSVP is needed, just arrive ready to assist neighbors with love and dignity.

MEDICAL DEBT SPECIAL OFFERING
All Saints Sunday, November 2: 10:30 AM
Spartan Community Center of Hazelwood (
134 E Elizabeth St)
Many of our neighbors are strapped with medical debt, one of the leading causes of bankruptcy along with damage to credit scores and reluctance to seek necessary medical care. By joining with the Matthew 25 Initiative of the Pittsburgh Presbytery, we have the opportunity to abolish over $11 million of medical debt in Allegheny County for pennies on the dollar. On All Saints Sunday, we will take a special offering during our regular worship gathering and will also provide a link to donate online.

WEEKLY PRAYER CHECK-IN
Tuesdays @ 1 PM
On Zoom >>
Password: tuesday
Bob leads a weekly online opportunity to connect with each other and support one another.

BOOK STUDY: CHERISHED BELONGING
Thursdays: 6:30-8 PM
Carnegie Library Hazelwood (
5006 Second Ave)
Pastor Sally Jo is leading a study of "Cherished Belonging: The Healing Power of Love in Divided Times" by Father Gregory Boyle (and maybe sneaking in a little bit of "Acts" too.) Copies of the book are available from your local library or can purchased. The book study will be hybrid in-person and on zoom, a link will come later this week.

PRAYER VIGIL AT ICE OFFICE
Fridays: 8-10 AM (Hot Metal Hosting 11/14, 12/12)
ICE Pittsburgh (
3000 Sidney St, Pittsburgh, PA 15203)
When there is suffering or injustice, disciples of Jesus respond. Following the lead of our friends at Casa San Jose, we join them and other communities of faith in a committed prayer witness in front of the ICE Building on the Southside every Friday. You are invited to bring respectful signs welcoming immigrants and asylum seekers.
