On September 5, Colin Albright was carrying his bicycle up a set of city steps on the South Side Slopes when a driver who may have been angry after a traffic incident sneaked up behind him and stabbed him repeatedly in the back before slicing his throat and leaving him for dead.
On September 16, Colin spoke in church about the attack and about forgiving his attacker while meditating on the words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. It's in that passage that Jesus delivers the difficult saying, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." And while it may be difficult to show mercy, Colin suggests that perhaps it would be even more difficult to expect retribution.
